The only international school where high school students do real science in a real university. Cambridge A-Levels. STEAM focus. Boarding available.
RTU ISST is a three-year Cambridge International AS & A Level school located on the campus of Riga Technical University — Latvia's oldest and largest technical university, founded in 1862. Our students don't just study science from textbooks: they work in university research labs, taught by faculty who hold PhDs and conduct active research.
We offer the Cambridge AICE Diploma and the International Project Qualification (IPQ), with a deliberate focus on STEAM: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, English, and Digital Media & Design. Boarding is available in RTU campus dormitories.
RTU ISST is an approved Cambridge International School, registered to offer the Cambridge Advanced programme, helping learners to thrive in and outside the classroom, so that they are ready for the world.
Students access RTU's fibre optics laboratory, environmental biotechnology centre, 3D printing facilities, and VR lab. Our teachers are researchers who publish — a Forbes 30 under 30 physicist, a former CERN collaborator, a published solid-state-physics chemist.
The Cambridge IPQ lets students conduct original research using university equipment. Through our partnership with JA Latvia and Riga Business School, students can build real ventures — prototyping in physics class, pitching to MBA students across campus.
Students from five countries learning on a university campus with 14,000 RTU students. Small classes with individual attention. Cambridge qualifications recognised by 1,400+ universities in 160+ countries. A global passport, earned together.
Taught by a Forbes 30-under-30 scientist and a former CERN researcher. Access to RTU's fibre optics and VR labs.
From basic titration to organic synthesis. Full fume-hood-equipped lab with spectrophotometer, precision scales, and automated titrator.
Taught by a university-level mathematical modelling PhD and a 20-year veteran who codes in five programming languages.
Java, Python, C++ with a working developer-researcher. From algorithms to real-world software development.
Language and literature with a teacher who has taught across three continents — Vietnam, China, Nepal, and Latvia.
Creative technology meets STEAM. Design thinking, digital tools, and visual communication in an engineering context.
